Fiscais agropecuários e BM flagram contrabando de bovinos da Argentina
A Brigada Militar flagrou, nesta quarta-feira (21), o contrabando de oito bovinos oriundos da Argentina, quando faziam a travessia para o Rio Grande do Sul. A BM e fiscais estaduais agropecuários da Secretaria da Agricultura, Pecuária e Desenvolvimento Rural (SEAPDR), que integram a equipe do Programa Sentinela, foram até a propriedade de desembarque dos animais, no município de Alecrim.
Conforme o coordenador do Programa Sentinela, Francisco Lopes, os bovinos foram atravessados a nado pelo Rio Uruguai e estavam machucados e exauridos. “Foram apreendidos e encaminhados para abate imediato, segundo previsão legal, devido ao risco sanitário, visto que o status para febre aftosa do Rio Grande do Sul é superior ao da Argentina, que ainda pratica a vacinação. O inquérito criminal deverá ser aberto junto à Delegacia da Polícia Federal de Santo Ângelo para apurar a materialidade e autoria do crime”, conta.
Lopes afirma que as ações de investigação, inteligência e vigilância da BM têm sido fundamentais para o flagrante de ações como essa, inibindo a prática do crime. “A segurança sanitária do rebanho do Rio Grande do Sul e do Brasil depende da ação integrada dos órgãos de fiscalização, segurança e defesa”.
