Brasil sediará Copa América de Basquete masculino de 2022
A Federação Internacional de Basquete (Fiba) confirmou nesta terça-feira (10) a realização da Americup (Copa América de Basquete Masculino) no Brasil em setembro de 2022.
A Copa América será realizada em quatro cidades brasileiras e, neste momento, a organização está na etapa de validação e vistoria das candidatas.
"É uma honra e um privilégio voltar ao Brasil para a AmeriCup 2022. Fiba e CBB [Confederação Brasileira de Basquete] trabalharam juntos por um longo período e agora temos um projeto estruturado e inspirador para levar o evento ao Brasil em setembro do ano que vem", disse Carlos Alves, diretor-executivo da Fiba Américas.
O torneio terá a participação de Brasil, Argentina, Estados Unidos, Canadá, México, República Dominicana, Porto Rico, Venezuela, Uruguai, Panamá, Ilhas Virgens e Colômbia. As seleções se classificaram através de eliminatórias encerradas em fevereiro deste ano.
