Artigo sobre intervenção militar pode ser utilizado, afirma Heleno
O ministro do GSI (Gabinete de Segurança Institucional), general Augusto Heleno, afirmou nesta segunda-feira (16), em entrevista à rádio Joven Pan, que o artigo 142 da Constituição pode ser utilizado para conter eventuais casos "muito graves" de crises institucionais. "Se ele existe no texto constitucional, é um sinal de que ele pode ser usado ou não estaria na Constituição", afirmou.
"O artigo 142 não diz quando é que as Forças Armadas devem intervir, mas colocam que é uma intervenção que acontece por necessidade de manter a tranquilidade no país e pode acontecer em qualquer lugar", pontuou o ministro.
Para Augusto Heleno, no entanto, o desejo é que a medida não seja utilizada. "Precisamos torcer para que ele não seja empregado, porque será um emprego inédito com todas as circunstâncias desse ineditismo", avaliou.
De acordo com o artigo citado por Heleno, as Forças Armadas, constituídas pela Marinha, pelo Exército e pela Aeronáutica, "destinam-se à defesa da Pátria, à garantia dos poderes constitucionais e, por iniciativa de qualquer destes, da lei e da ordem".
"Discordo das considerações que fazem sobre o [artigo] 142. Acho que o artigo é bastante claro, basta ler com imparcialidade, mas não acredito que ele venha a ser empregado na situação atual", observou Heleno.
A manifestação do ministro surge no momento de crise institucional entre os Poderes Executivo e Judiciário. O presidente Jair Bolsonaro tem feito ataques as instituições, democracia e ministros do STF (Supremo Tribunal Federal) Luís Roberto Barroso e Alexandre de Moraes.
