Fiocruz recebe IFA para 4,7 milhões de doses de vacina contra Covid-19
A Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) recebeu na manhã desta segunda-feira, 30, mais um carregamento do ingrediente farmacêutico ativo (IFA) usado para a a fabricação da vacina Oxford/Astrazeneca contra a Covid-19.
A remessa chegou às 5h50 da manhã ao Aeroporto Internacional do Rio de Janeiro e foi levada para a fábrica do Instituto de Tecnologia em Imunobiológicos (Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz).
A Fiocruz calcula que o IFA recebido hoje poderá ser usado para produzir 4,7 milhões de doses da vacina. Apesar disso, as instalações de Bio-Manguinhos devem continuar operando abaixo de sua capacidade total, já que a disponibilidade do insumo é menor que a capacidade produtiva do instituto.
Desde o início do ano, a fundação já entregou 91,9 milhões de doses de vacinas contra a Covid-19 ao Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI). Foram entregues 4 milhões de doses importadas da Índia e 87,9 milhões produzidas em Bio-Manguinhos.
