A Brigada Militar realizou uma operação conjunta com o efetivo da Força Tática do 29º Batalhão de Polícia Militar e do 1º Batalhão de Polícia Rodoviária (BPRv). As ações visaram a fiscalização e o combate aos crimes em área urbana e rural de Catuípe.
Em determinado momento, a Patrulha Rural de Catuípe em barreira policial realizada na localidade de Santa Cruz, ao sinalizar para que um veículo Parati, de cor bege, da cidade de Santo Ângelo, parasse, o condutor desobedeceu as ordens e fugiu. Posteriormente, o automóvel foi localizado a cerca de um quilômetro. O veículo foi abandonado em uma lavoura. Já o condutor e o carona, ambos visualizados e identificados pela guarnição de serviço, fugiram em direção ao mato.
No interior da Parati foram localizados diversos objetos usados para a prática de crime de abigeato. O veículo foi recolhido ao depósito do guincho por ter cometido diversas infrações e os mateiras usados na pratica do crime apreendidos.
