Adinei Garcia, de 44 anos, dirigia o Fiat Siena envolvido na colisão. Além dele, morreram a filha Amanda Leticia Bernardo, de 16 anos, e o neto Rhavi Oliveira, de apenas sete meses. O outro homem, que ainda não teve a identidade confirmada, teria pegado uma carona para visitar parentes em Caçador, onde Adinei morava.
O Oeste Mais apurou com uma sobrinha de Adinei que ele havia visitado parentes no município de Santiago do Sul, no Oeste de Santa Catarina. O acidente teria ocorrido no momento em que o homem voltava para casa com a família. Ele morava no Assentamento Hermínio Gonçalves, em Caçador, e trabalhava em um supermercado.
A tragédia ocorreu por volta das 7 horas da manhã, segundo informou a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF). A colisão foi entre o automóvel, com placas de São José dos Pinhais (PR), e uma carreta Scania, placas de Panambi (RS).
A PRF relatou que o automóvel invadiu a pista contrária, batendo de frente com a carreta. Todas as vítimas morreram ainda no local. Os corpos foram recolhidos e encaminhados para o Instituto Médico Legal (IML). A PRF informou que o motorista da carreta não se machucou.
