Na noite desta quinta-feira (31), a Polícia Rodoviária Federal prendeu um contrabandista que transportava uma carga de aproximadamente 25.000 maços de cigarros de fabricação paraguaia, oriundos da fronteira com a Argentina. A ação ocorreu próximo à BR 392, em Roque Gonzales.
Durante operação de combate aos crimes transfronteiriços, os PRFs abordaram uma Amarok com placas de Viamão. Ao vistoriarem o veículo, os policiais encontraram uma carga de aproximadamente 25 mil maços de cigarros contrabandeados, que foi avaliada em mais de R$ 85.000,00.
O contrabandista, 36 anos, de Santa Cruz do Sul, já tinha passagem por descaminho. Ele foi preso e conduzido para a polícia judiciária federal em Santo Ângelo, juntamente com a caminhonete e os cigarros apreendidos.
